A MAISON CHARLES “NENUPHAR DOUBLE ECRAN” BRONZE LAMP DESIGNED BY CHRYSTIANE CHARLES WITH TWO BRONZE WATER LILY FLOWERS, ONE OPEN THE SLIGHTLY OPEN ABOVE A BRONZE CAST LILY PAD LEAF. WITH ORIGINAL BRUSHED GILT METAL SHADE WITH CHROME SIDE DETAILING. STAMPED ON THE BASE “MADE IN FRANCE, CHARLES “ REWIRED WITH ANTIQUE GOLD CORD FLEX AND SWITCH. THE LAMP AND THE SHADE ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH NO TARNISH, DENTS OR SCRATCHES WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT WITH THESE LAMPS. THERE IS A PAIR OF THESE LAMPS AVAILABLE WITH SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT SHADE COLOUR. THE ONE LISTED HERE IS BRUSHED GILT, THE OTHER IS BRUSHED MORE STEEL FINISH, PLEASE SEE THE LIGHTING SECTION FOR THE OTHER LAMP.

CHRYSTIANE CHARLES WON THE GOLD MEDAL AT THE ECOLE SUPÉRIEURE NATIONALE DES BEAUX-ARTS IN PARIS, THEN WENT ON TO BECOME THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR AND PRESIDENT OF MAISON CHARLES BOTH POSTS SHE HELD UNTIL 1982. CHRYSTIANE CREATED OVER 300 DESIGNS FOR THE COMPANY INCLUDING SOME OF ITS MOST FAMOUS, MORE ORGANIC MODELS LIKE THE WATER LILIES.
