A wonderful Arts and Crafts beechwood hall seat by renown British designer E G Punnett
A wonderful Arts and Crafts, beechwood, ladder back hall seat by renown British furniture designer E G Punnett. Likely to have been manufactured by prominent furniture maker William Birch Ltd of High Wycombe. Dating from 1890-1910 this wonderful example of Arts and Crafts furniture, has a stylised wavy ladder back, turned spindles with ball tops, all in good orignal condition and structurally sound. Newly upholstered with new seat pad, covered with Soane Britain, "Scrolling fern" fabric and velvet trim.
The V & A Museum in London has examples by E G Punnett and William Birch in their collection.
