A lovely Art Deco 1930s three legged stoneware vase by Wilhelm Kåge, for Gustavsberg, Sweden. Designed with the iconic mottled green base, which was produced by copper oxide and decorated with a mythological fish with a string of bubbles rising up to the rim, all in the iconic silvered, hand painted and chiselled finish. Stamped on the base with orignal Gustavsberg sticker.
Designed by artistic director Wilhelm Kåge, "Argenta" became one of the most commercially successful and recognisable in the history of Scandinavian ceramics.
